Introduction We are seeking a Design Engineer for our global Customer Order Engineering team (COE) in Sala. As a Design Engineer, you will primarily work with customer-specific design for customer orders and quotes, product maintenance, and technical support, for example to production and other global COE teams. You will become part of an operation where collaboration, development, and technical expertise are at the center. The position is located in Sala, Sweden. We value flexibility and offer the opportunity for hybrid work. To create good conditions for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and development, we also see regular office presence as an important success factor. Therefore, you are expected to be on-site in Sala at least three days per week. You will report to the Manager COE Pump, also located in Sala. Your Team Customer Order Engineering (COE) in Sala develops world-leading slurry pump solutions that help our customers meet their respective unique needs. The team is responsible for developing design documentation, manuals, and article structures for quotes and customer orders of complete pump units, including pumps, motors, drive systems, and safety equipment. You will become part of an engaged team consisting of six design engineers, three material master data specialists, and three IOMS specialists. At the same time, you are part of a global organization with colleagues in Sweden, USA, India, Brazil, and Peru, where knowledge sharing, collaboration, and development are in focus. Your Assignment As a Design Engineer, you are responsible for customer-specific design solutions for customers worldwide in slurry pumps, hydrocyclones, and hose systems. Based on customer needs, you will develop technical solutions that combine functionality, quality, and reliability. Examples of work tasks: Develop 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and technical documentation for customer-specific solutions. Manage and maintain design data and article structures in our PLM system. Create customer, assembly, and production drawings, and perform or initiate simpler technical calculations. Provide technical support to production and suppliers in case of deviations and improvement needs. Conduct product safety reviews to ensure that products meet applicable standards and safety requirements. Develop new solutions and contribute to design work in customer order projects. Identify and drive design changes based on the company's needs within production, quality, and procurement. Who Are You? We are also looking for you with: Relevant degree from a university or technical university in mechanical engineering or equivalent. Several years of experience in mechanical design and engineering, and a genuine interest in technology and problem-solving. Good knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD and experience with PLM systems. Experience with Autodesk Inventor and Teamcenter is a merit. Experience from mining, pump, or other technically advanced industries is a merit. Communication skills and feel comfortable communicating in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.
