Special Judicial Training Program with Apprenticeship at Mora District Court
Svea Court of Appeal is Sweden's largest appellate court with approximately 460 employees. The court's offices are beautifully located on Riddarholmen in central Stockholm. The court hires approximately 50 court prosecutors each year. At each recruitment occasion, several applicants are hired. Becoming a prosecutor is the step after the notarial apprenticeship. The judicial training program includes apprenticeships at both the court of appeal and the district court.
Within the existing judicial training program, there is now an opportunity for employment where the apprenticeship as district prosecutor is placed at Mora District Court.
About the Judicial Training Program
The judicial training program consists of practical apprenticeships in district court and court of appeal, as well as theoretical training organized by the Court Academy. It can be compared to a trainee program, and the practical apprenticeship is a very important part of the training. In addition to the common courses offered by the Court Academy, the court of appeal and district courts provide some additional training. The court of appeal has overall responsibility for the judicial training program throughout the training period.
The practical part of the training includes service as a prosecutor in the court of appeal for at least one year, as a prosecutor in district court for at least two years, and as an associate judge in the court of appeal for one year. The prosecutor/acting assessor serves as an important workforce for the court throughout the judicial training program. The prosecutor's/acting assessor's work shall be planned so that the tasks contribute to achieving the objectives of the judicial training program. The Court Academy is responsible for the theoretical training, which consists of nine mandatory courses during the judicial training program.
The judicial training program provides a unique opportunity to acquire comprehensive legal knowledge and experience from various courts. Choosing a career in the judiciary means that you will daily contribute to a democratic and just society where you work for everyone's right to have their case heard in an impartial court.
Qualifications, etc.
To begin the special judicial training program, you must have completed the notarial training. Work at a court requires that hired prosecutors meet high standards regarding, among other things, professional competence and judgment.
The employment begins with a six-month probationary period. After a successful probationary period, the employment becomes permanent.

Start Date: The court hires new prosecutors with start dates of January 1, March 1, May 1, September 1, and November 1 annually.

In the application form, you must specify which position(s) you are applying for and your order of preference.
An application will remain in the court of appeal's applicant bank for six months after it is submitted, regardless of whether you have only applied for a regular position, only a designated position, or both.
Applications must be received by the court of appeal no later than August 15, 2026.
In accordance with the court of appeal's employment procedures, background checks will be conducted in the event of employment.
