WORK DUTIES Do you want to make a real difference for people living with cognitive illness and their loved ones? We are now seeking an engaged and skilled dementia care nurse who wants to be part of developing future person-centered care and support within our operations. With us, you will have a key role in strengthening quality of life, safety, and self-determination for people with dementia. You will be an important knowledge bearer in the organization and work both in direct patient care, in a consultative capacity, and in a development-focused manner. About the Role As a dementia care nurse, you work independently and in close collaboration with registered nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, care coordinators, care staff, physicians, and external healthcare providers. The role includes, among other things: • supporting early detection of cognitive impairment and contributing to basic dementia assessment • providing support and advice to people with cognitive illness and their loved ones • working person-centered based on the individual's life story, habits, values, and wishes • mentoring, educating, and strengthening registered personnel and care staff in complex care situations • working systematically with BPSD, SveDem, and preventive measures • leading and developing teamwork around people with cognitive illness • contributing to coordination between the municipality, primary care, specialist care, and social services • driving quality and improvement work in the field of cognitive diseases • promoting equitable, safe, and evidence-based care. This aligns well with the national competency description where the specialist nurse's role includes leading the care process, mentoring teams, working preventively, and ensuring person-centered care. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who are a registered nurse, preferably with specialist education in elderly care or dementia nursing, or alternatively other experience that the employer deems equivalent. You have: • good knowledge of cognitive diseases and their consequences • experience with municipal care and support services, preferably elderly care • experience mentoring and educating colleagues • the ability to work independently, in a consultative manner, and in teams • a person-centered approach • interest in operational development and improvement work • good communication and pedagogical skills. As a person, you are confident, attentive, and solution-oriented. You see the whole picture around the individual and have a talent for creating trusting relationships.
