Your responsibilities
Linköping Municipality is now strengthening its data protection efforts by establishing a new position that will serve as a link between operations and the General Data Protection Regulation and associated regulations. As a Data Protection Officer, you work closely with the municipality's operations and function as a strategic support in ensuring compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation and related legislation. You contribute to identifying opportunities and creating conditions for effective data protection work. In this role, you are responsible for legal support and advice regarding the General Data Protection Regulation and associated legislation to the municipality's boards and administrations.
In your role, you will have varied and diverse work where you collaborate with all the municipality's administrations. You work closely with the administrations' data protection coordinators and support them in making prioritizations and assessments within the data protection area. You also contribute to implementing the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation and associated legislation into practical working methods in the operations.
To spread knowledge and strengthen expertise within the organization, you will conduct training and, when needed, develop and revise municipality-wide governance documents within the data protection area.
In addition to working with the municipality's administrations, you will also collaborate with the municipality's Data Protection Officer and municipal lawyers at the Legal Unit.

Your workplace
As a Data Protection Officer, you will be placed at the municipality's Legal Unit. The unit is responsible for municipality-wide legal matters and ensures that professional expert support is available within law and also supports some of the municipal companies in data protection matters. The Legal Unit is led by the Chief Lawyer and the unit also consists of six municipal lawyers, two data protection officers, and one information security manager.
The workplace is centrally located at Ågatan 40 and for this role, flexible working hours apply.
You who are applying
We are looking for you with higher education or university education that we assess as relevant for the assignment. You have previous experience of working professionally with data protection matters and have knowledge of the General Data Protection Regulation and related legislation. We consider experience from working in the public sector to be advantageous. Experience in enabling the use of AI solutions through the application of the General Data Protection Regulation and good knowledge of the AI Regulation, we also see as advantageous.
The position requires very good ability in oral and written communication in Swedish as the work places high demands on interpreting and writing advanced text and being able to convey complicated legislation in a clear and educational manner.

For the role, you need to be able to take your own initiatives and independently drive matters within your areas of responsibility. You should be able to structure your work and communicate solutions in a clear and educational way, both orally and in writing. Furthermore, you work well with other people and can relate to them in a responsive and smooth way. You work towards goals and have a clear results-oriented approach and can change your direction when goals change.
