Data Protection Specialist (2 positions), SARK/2026:241 About the job Sydarkivera is a municipal association located in southern Sweden with the primary mission of serving as an archival authority for its member organizations. Sydarkivera also provides a complementary service as a joint data protection officer for multiple municipalities and other organizations within the association's jurisdiction. The service is performed by a data protection team with expertise in law, information security, IT, and archives. The data protection team maintains the data protection officer function for organizations connected to the service and with which Sydarkivera has contracts. The overarching mission of the data protection team as a data protection officer is to provide advisory and oversight functions. This primarily involves providing advice and support on various data protection matters, providing data protection training, and monitoring data protection compliance among connected parties. Your main responsibilities You will be part of our data protection team, and your work will include providing advice and support on data protection issues to our connected parties, planning and conducting network meetings, training sessions and other meetings, and monitoring data protection compliance among our connected parties. Based on your knowledge and experience, you will also work on other issues that arise within the organization, such as information security. As an employee at Sydarkivera, you will have diverse and developmentally rewarding work in a complex and varied organization. Qualifications We are looking for someone with academic training in law, data and systems science, public administration, or equivalent qualifications that Sydarkivera considers equivalent. You should have extensive knowledge within the data protection field and several years of practical experience working with data protection matters. It is important that you have experience from public sector operations, as Sydarkivera's activities are focused on municipalities and regions. We want you to have experience delivering training, both digitally and in person, and to find this to be a stimulating task. It is advantageous if you have knowledge of video surveillance and the AI Regulation. As a member of the data protection team, you need to be independent and confident in your role, while also being collaborative and responsive. We value a consistent working approach with regular team meetings and digital check-ins. You are expected to work independently while also having strong ability to work with others and communicate in a trustworthy manner. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities and suitability. You will be in contact with many different organizations, and therefore it is of utmost importance that you can express yourself well both verbally and in writing and cooperate in a professional and service-oriented manner. Travel for work occurs, for example, for training sessions, network meetings, and other arranged events. Scope, duration, placement, and start date The positions are full-time and permanent. Probationary employment may be applicable. The municipal association Sydarkivera has its main office in Alvesta, but also smaller regional offices throughout southern Sweden. Placement will be offered at one of our offices. There is an opportunity to work partially remotely. We conduct interviews continuously during the recruitment phase.
