We are looking for you to help ensure performance, availability, and stability in the data platform that powers our modern, web-based analytics product. We have great interest in our rapidly growing SaaS service, and as a database specialist in our data and integration team, you will be one of those who ensures that our databases meet the mark as customers and partners extract increasingly complex insights from ever-larger datasets. About the Role Our data and integration team is responsible for our data from ingestion to presentation to the user, and works with pipelines, data modeling, data infrastructure, and integrations with external systems. In the DBA role, you will be the team's specialist in operations, performance, and availability of our databases, primarily Postgres and ClickHouse, and a natural sparring partner for the rest of the team and organization on matters related to database architecture. We work with a modern tech stack based on open-source and cloud-native technologies in Kubernetes. We are about 30 people at Senseworks and work cross-functionally across the entire stack. Your days can, depending on your interests, include everything from query and index optimization, capacity planning, and HA/failover solutions to helping other teams reason through data models and schema design. Examples of what you may work with: - Performance optimization of Postgres and ClickHouse; e.g., query tuning, indexing, partitioning. - Ensuring high availability through replication, failover, backup, and restore. - Capacity planning and scaling as data volumes grow. - Monitoring and alerting to detect and address issues before they impact customers. - Operations and management of databases in Kubernetes. - Consulting with other developers on database selection, schema design, and scalability. About You We believe you are a curious, driven, responsible, and positive person with some years of experience working closely with database operations and performance. Ideally, you are based in Umeå and the surrounding area so we can meet often. We would like to see that you have experience with: - Postgres in production environments: operations, tuning, and troubleshooting. - OLAP databases, particularly ClickHouse, and handling large datasets. - Performance analysis, index strategy, and capacity planning. - High availability: replication, backup/restore, disaster recovery. - Kubernetes and cloud-based systems. It is also a merit to have experience with: - Infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform) and observability tools. - Data modeling and SQL. - Work in finance-related industries such as accounting, auditing, banking, etc. What We Offer We offer a chance to be part of a rapidly growing fintech company with big ambitions and a product that makes a real difference for our customers.
