Do you want to help shape how data is used at Europe's largest education company? We're looking for a Data Engineer who wants to take responsibility for both data flows and the infrastructure they run on. With us, you'll further develop a modern data platform used for analytics, reporting, and business development across all of AcadeMedia, and own the automation that keeps it running. You'll be part of our central Data & Analytics team. We're a small team with significant responsibility and close collaboration between technology and business. We work agile in sprints with a product owner who prioritizes incoming needs, which gives you room to work focused. Here you'll have great opportunity to influence, make decisions, and drive work forward, from idea and architecture to implementation, deployment, and long-term management. About the Role You'll further develop our lakehouse platform by connecting new source systems and maintaining and improving what already exists. The role is broad and covers everything from data ingestion and transformation to infrastructure and deployment flows, where Infrastructure as Code plays a heavier role than in a typical Data Engineer position. We work with Databricks and dbt on Azure, with infrastructure as code in OpenTofu and Spacelift, and deployment flows in GitHub Actions. Your Main Responsibilities Connect new source systems and build robust data flows in Databricks and dbt, including transformation, testing, and documentation. Build and maintain our data deliveries to surrounding systems. Drive and further develop our IaC solutions and automate CI/CD flows and infrastructure. Secure data quality, observability, traceability, and security in close collaboration with the team. Contribute to dimensional modeling. Collaborate with analysts, product owners, and the business to clarify what's actually needed before building the solution. Participate in technical decisions and help shape the platform's future development. Who Are You? We're looking for someone with several years of experience as a Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, platform engineer, or backend developer with strong data focus. You're comfortable working independently in a small team and have a strong sense of ownership. You don't need to have all the answers from the start, but you're used to exploring alternatives, making well-founded decisions, and driving work forward without detailed guidance. Your Profile Strong knowledge of SQL and Python, with experience in modules, dependency management, and testing. Experience with Databricks or another lakehouse platform. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (for example, Terraform or OpenTofu) and with CI/CD and version control as standard working practices. Good eye for data quality, operational reliability, and modern observability. Swedish and English fluently, spoken and written. It's a merit if you have experience with Spacelift or other IaC orchestration. Declarative Automation Bundles (formerly Databricks Asset Bundles). Dbt or equivalent transformation tools. Integrations with ERP or HR systems. Lakehouse architecture, data governance, and Unity Catalog. Power BI and semantic modeling.
