About the Department/Unit In our business support unit, we continuously develop working methods, processes, and digital tools to create the best possible conditions for the university's education and research. The team includes data engineers, project managers, requirements analysts, and architects. You will also work closely with the business in planning and delivery work. Responsibilities KTH is establishing Microsoft Fabric as the core of its data platform and is now looking for Data Engineers who want to help develop the platform further. As a Data Engineer with us, you will be involved from an early stage in shaping KTH's central analytics and data platform in Microsoft Fabric. You work in an environment where research, education, and societal benefit are at the center, and you will have significant responsibility and freedom to influence and contribute to future development. In this role, you will: - Help shape, further develop, and future-proof KTH's data platform in Microsoft Fabric together with the team. - Be involved in developing integrations to ingest data from various sources and learn how to design stable and scalable solutions. - Work together in the team to design our Lakehouse structure according to Medallion architecture and develop transformations in PySpark. - Build semantic models and Power BI reports and learn how to connect technical solutions with business needs. - Version control your code in Git and learn how CI/CD workflows function in Azure DevOps. Qualifications Requirements - Relevant academic education or equivalent knowledge acquired in other ways that the employer deems equivalent. - Data Engineering & Code: Basic experience with Python and SQL. - Basic knowledge of databases, data modeling, and ETL/ELT processes. - Experience, from education or otherwise, in capturing and understanding business needs and the ability to translate these into technical solutions. - Good knowledge of Swedish and English in both speech and writing. Meritorious - Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, Azure, or other data and cloud platforms. - Experience with data visualization, such as Power BI or similar. - Experience working with APIs. - Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate (DP-700) and/or Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600). - Knowledge of version control with Git and an interest in a structured way of working with tools such as Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD solutions.
