We currently have approximately 600 dance students and are entering an exciting new phase where we want to develop our entire dance program. With us, you'll have the opportunity to influence content, working methods, and future initiatives together with engaged colleagues. Värnamo Cultural School is part of the Children and Education Department and has approximately 30 employees. The school's educators meet about 1,400 students per week in voluntary activities within subject courses including dance, music, theater, visual arts, and photography/film. We also meet all children and young people from preschool through grade 9 with our program activities. The dance program at the Cultural School has a long tradition and is a very popular branch within the school. Responsibilities As a dance instructor, you will be an important part of our continued development work. You will teach students of different ages and levels while contributing to strengthening and developing the program. The dance styles in this position are primarily Dance Mix, Jazz/Street Dance, Modern Dance, and there is also the opportunity to teach ballet or other dance styles. Teaching takes place at the Cultural School in Värnamo as well as at certain schools within the municipality during daytime and evening hours. As a dance instructor, you are independently responsible for lessons and lesson planning. You will be part of the dance subject team and work closely together regarding student development as well as for performances and presentations. There are great opportunities to work independently but also with other colleagues at the cultural school on exciting dance projects and interdisciplinary projects at various events in Värnamo. Qualifications You have a Dance Teacher degree with teacher certification or education/experience that the employer considers equivalent. We are looking for a dance instructor with a clear methodical approach who can inspire students to develop. We would like you to have breadth within dance since you will meet children and young people in different learning environments, for example evening courses, primary school, and gymnasium. We are seeking someone with great passion for the dance subject who collaborates easily with colleagues in your work team. You take your own initiatives, are responsible, and open to new ideas and of course you meet students, guardians, and colleagues with high competence and warmth. Experience working with productions and performances is desirable. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. We would appreciate it if you include a personal letter and CV.
