Would you like to work close to operations and provide qualified financial support to a government agency with an important mission for society? As a controller at the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare, you'll have a central role in creating good conditions for planning, prioritization, and follow-up—and an opportunity to contribute to the development of the agency's financial management. About the Role In your role as controller, you'll be responsible for one or more departments at the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare. The agency's mandate comes from the government and spans several important areas within healthcare, care, and social services. You'll work with qualified financial support and help the agency plan, prioritize, and monitor operations efficiently. As a controller, you'll be a qualified support to the agency's managers in budget work, forecasting, and other financial reporting. The role also includes work with monthly closing, annual reports, and quality assurance, as well as developing and monitoring relevant key performance indicators. You'll also contribute to the development of financial management processes and system support. You'll be part of the controller group, which is an important part of the finance department. Here we work closely together and share knowledge, ideas, and experiences to develop working methods and quality. You'll also have close collaboration with other colleagues in the department and with managers and operations throughout the agency. About You We're looking for someone who is flexible and driven with the ability to engage and deliver results. You work in a structured manner and are clear and pedagogical in your communication. Since the role is agency-wide and involves many internal contact points, you need to be attentive, have an easy time collaborating, and be able to build trusting relationships. You thrive in an advisory role where you can both support and challenge operations from a financial perspective. In the recruitment process, we'll place great emphasis on your personal qualities. We're looking for someone with: - An academic degree in economics or equivalent education that the agency finds relevant - Several years of current work experience in budgeting, follow-up, and forecasting - Very good knowledge of Excel and financial administrative systems - Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish It's a merit if you have one or more of the following: - Experience working as a controller in a public organization or equivalent role in a larger complex operation - Several years of current experience working in a larger and complex organization where you've been responsible for monitoring results, preparing forecasts, and contributing to annual report documentation - Good knowledge of the financial administrative regulations within the government Good to Know The position is a permanent full-time employment, beginning with a six-month probationary period. You'll work from the office at Västerbroplan in Stockholm, but have the opportunity to work remotely up to two days per week. In spring 2027, we're moving to Solna Strand. Your job title will be controller and your placement is in the finance department at the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare. When you apply, you'll answer a number of selection questions linked to the requirements in the job posting.
