K.A. Rasmussen is an international group and a leading player in recycling, refining, and trading of precious metals. With over 150 years of operations, the company combines industrial capacity with a business model characterized by high volumes, large values, and strict precision requirements.
The group has its headquarters and production in Hamar, where the Nordic region's largest precious metal refining facilities are located. The business is an important part of the circular economy by recycling and returning metals to the market.
The Swedish operations in Helsingborg are a business-focused unit with a focus on trading, analysis, and customer relationships where economics and business are closely intertwined.
About the position
K.A. Rasmussen operates in a global commodity market where prices change continuously and where the business largely involves managing risk through hedging and price fixing. This means the role is not only traditional controlling – but also requires:
• Understanding of business logic and margins
• Interest in currency, commodities, and price movements
• Ability to analyze and contextualize financial flows
You will become an important link between numbers and business, with the opportunity to gradually develop your expertise in this area. As Controller, you will have a central role with responsibility for monitoring and analyzing operations in Sweden and Finland. You will work close to the business in an environment where high inventory values and tight margins demand strong control, analysis, and understanding of the business model.
Responsibilities
The role includes, among other things:
• Business-focused analysis and support to the organization
• Monitoring and reconciliation of inventory
• Preparation of monthly and annual financial statements
• Reporting of taxes and fees
• Dialog with both local management and group functions
You report in a dotted line to the CFO in Hamar and work closely with a solid line to the Managing Director for Sweden and Finland.
The role also involves an international dimension and some travel, primarily within the Nordic region, may occur.
Relevant background
We are looking for someone with a few years of experience in finance who wants to take the next step in a more business-focused role. You have, for example:
• Background in accounting or controlling
• Experience with financial statement work
• A structured and meticulous working style
• Interest in understanding the business, not just the numbers
If you have experience from an international environment or interest in financial markets, that is a merit, but not a requirement.
What we offer
This is a role that suits you if you want to grow:
• From more traditional finance to more business-focused controlling
• Toward an international context
• In an organization where you get significant direct exposure to stakeholders at different levels and take considerable responsibility
You will become a key person in a relatively small organization, with breadth in the role and close connection to management and business.
