Controller

The Inspectorate for Care and Welfare (IVO) is in a development phase where our mandate is expanding and placing increased demands on our oversight. To meet this, we are strengthening our operations and are now seeking a controller for the Economics Unit with placement at our office in Stockholm. About the role As a controller, you will provide financial support to managers within the agency's operations, primarily in planning and monitoring finances. Qualifications We are looking for someone who has: an academic degree in economics or equivalent, or several years of relevant professional experience deemed equivalent, current experience working with budgeting, forecasting, and financial monitoring, strong skills in Excel, strong knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. It is advantageous if you have: experience working as a controller or equivalent role in public sector operations, experience with financial management within a state agency, for example appropriation monitoring, state accounting, and work based on budget letters (regleringsbrev), experience with Agresso. Personal qualities To succeed in this role, you need to be analytical and structured, with the ability to see connections and translate financial information into clear conclusions. You are pedagogical and can communicate complex issues in an understandable way tailored to the recipient's needs. The role also requires strong collaboration skills, as you have many contact points and work with various stakeholders in the organization. You work with a solution-focused approach and contribute constructively to developing work methods and finding ways forward. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities and abilities. In Stockholm, there are also cross-agency departments for actor control, operational support, legal support, analysis, planning, and communication, as well as the director general's office.
