Our Operations
The Finance Department is an operational and strategic function that supports political leadership and regional management in matters concerning governance processes and finance in a broad sense, as well as supports the region's administrations in matters relating to operational finance and analytical support.
We are now seeking an experienced controller to Region Uppsala's Management Office who will work with operational finance related to the Management Office's own operations. You will become part of a controller group with broad expertise in the finance area. The group works closely with operations and other units within the Finance Department.
Your Assignment
As a controller at the Management Office, you will be a central partner for operations. You drive budget, forecast, and follow-up processes and are responsible for project accounting within external projects. Through a proactive approach, you support department and unit managers with qualified analyses and provide the Finance Manager and management with decision-making materials. The role also includes developing and leading financial processes and participating in various working groups and projects.
You will be part of an engaged team of five controllers where we share knowledge, support each other, and enjoy working together.
The position is located at the Management Office and you report directly to the Finance Manager.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
• Academic degree in Finance
• Several years of experience in qualified controller work and thus good knowledge of budgeting, analysis, and follow-up
• Several years of experience working operationally close with financial governance, analysis, and decision support
• Very good skills in Excel
• Ability to translate complex financial data into clear analyses and decision-making materials
• Fluent in Swedish, spoken and written
It is an advantage if you have:
• Experience with BI and analysis tools, such as SAS
• Experience from larger complex organizations
• Experience in project finance financed by EU structural funds, national authorities, or similar other external financiers
• Experience in contributing to the development of working methods, models, or governance within the finance area
