"My life changed when an adult saw me" - Youth Did you grow up with a parent who struggled with alcohol/substance use, mental health issues, or violence? Now you have the opportunity to use your experiences and help other young people in similar situations. About the Position As a coach at Maskrosbarn, you will be matched with a young person and maintain continuous contact for at least one year. You will meet once a week for approximately two hours per session, working together to help the youth process their experiences and develop tools to manage their situation, while also providing a break from their home environment. Every other session focuses on conversation exercises from our methodology materials, and the alternate weeks are more relaxed meetings where you can do activities together. Receiving support from a stable adult and having a trustworthy adult relationship is one of the most important protective factors for a young person. As a coach, you will help change young people's lives. This is a time-limited, hourly position with a typical scope of 2.5 hours/week. Hourly rate 200 kr including vacation compensation. Upon employment offer, you must provide a current extract from the Police's criminal record (work with children in activities other than childcare). The position may involve expenses for activities and food/beverages from your meetings with the youth. You live in the Gothenburg area and grew up in a similar way to our young people. You are a secure and stable person with youthful energy and a natural ability to connect with young people. You are a good role model and would find it rewarding to support a young person and build a unique relationship through activities combined with personal conversations. We are looking for someone who is attentive, engaged, and can meet young people at their level. You have a natural understanding of youth's daily lives, interests, and perspectives, and feel comfortable in their social contexts. The position requires flexibility and the ability to adapt to the youth's needs regarding time, activities, and approach. To provide long-term, stable support, we prefer candidates with stable employment or studies. You must be fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written. Previous experience working with children or youth is a merit but not required. We believe it is extremely important that you enter this position with the intention of being there for the young person until the end of the assignment. We welcome diversity among applicants.
