We are currently seeking a CTO for the publicly listed software company Modelon in Lund. You will have personnel responsibility for a large group of developers (located in both Sweden and India), participate in the management team, and report to the CEO. Technical expertise and strong leadership skills are essential to thrive and perform well in this role. Key Responsibilities and Areas of Responsibility
Ensure that the company's technical vision and strategy align with business goals, including product development and innovation.
Act as a technical leader and inspiration for development teams in both Sweden and India, and as a bridge between the technical teams and company management.
Ensure that products maintain high technical quality, are secure, and sustainable over time.
Work to execute product strategies and lifecycles in a way that maximizes return on technical investments.
Build a strong technical culture that encourages innovation, collaboration, and knowledge transfer, and promote effective communication, collaboration, and knowledge transfer between geographically distributed teams.
Recruit, retain, and develop top talent.
Own technical security and compliance.
Manage budgeting of technical initiatives, including tools, personnel, and infrastructure.
Drive innovation by encouraging research and experimentation within the company.
Stay current and thereby anticipate technical challenges/limitations and opportunities to keep the company relevant and competitive.
Contribute to identifying new product ideas that make the company's products unique compared to competitors'.
Maintain strong relationships with key customers so that new requirements and wishes are captured and applied to a broader market.
Be a driver of continuous improvement.
The position is full-time with placement in Lund (not hybrid). The development team consists of 30 engineers distributed across 7 teams, located in Lund and India.
Qualifications - Requirements
Master's degree in Engineering (and possibly PhD) – preferably in Engineering Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
Experience leading qualified developers (engineers) in the private sector.
Extremely technically interested and knowledgeable.
Strong interest in AI and its possibilities.
Experience as a development manager or CTO at a technical software company. You likely started your career working as a product developer.
