Would you like to lead and develop audit oversight in Sweden during a period of significant change? The Swedish Board for Auditor Oversight is now seeking a Chief Legal Officer and Department Head who wants to contribute to a mission of great societal importance.
About the Role
You are responsible for the work of the Legal Department and have personnel responsibility for the department's seven employees. Since oversight is carried out by lawyers and auditors together, you lead, prioritize, and develop the agency's supervision work together with the Chief Auditor. You have ultimate responsibility for the agency's legal governance and quality, with a focus on efficiency and legal certainty.
You are part of the agency's management group, report to the Director General, and represent the agency both internally and externally.
At the turn of the year 2026/2027, the Swedish Board for Auditor Oversight will assume the responsibilities of the Swedish Financial Reporting Board. This means you will have a central role in a comprehensive development and change process, where as a member of the management group you participate in further developing the organization, working methods, and processes – both within your own department and in close collaboration with other parts of the agency.

Qualifications
You must have:
- A degree in law (kandidatexamen)
- Many years of experience in qualified legal work
- Experience working in state operations
- Experience leading qualified employees
- Excellent ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
It is meritorious to have:
- Experience as an assessor at the Court of Appeal or Supreme Court, or equivalent
- Experience with legislation work in the Government Offices
- Experience with the EU legislative process
- Knowledge of association law, particularly corporate law, accounting law, and audit law
- Experience leading change and development work
Other Information
Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities. The employment is a permanent position. You will be employed as a lawyer with a time-limited management assignment that can be extended.
