Then we have an exciting position for you! The Legal Secretariat is responsible for archives and records management and coordinates information management for the entire Kammarkollegiet. This includes monitoring the agency's compliance with the Freedom of the Press Act, Public Access and Secrecy Act, Archives Act and other relevant legislation. The Legal Secretariat also has overarching responsibility for administrative law issues and other matters that may require legal determination and that have not been delegated to a department. The Legal Secretariat is responsible for monitoring agency-wide legislation including Kammarkollegiet's instructions. Furthermore, the secretariat is responsible for updating Kammarkollegiet's rules of procedure and for coordinating the agency's remittance work, as well as maintaining inventories of movable property in the royal palaces and stables that belong to the state. The Legal Secretariat is responsible for policy and methodology development within its area of operation. Job Description The Chief Legal Counsel is head of the Legal Secretariat, which consists of approximately 12 employees. You lead and develop legal governance within Kammarkollegiet's areas of operation and ensure well-considered legal determinations and high legal quality in decision-making, governance and application of regulations. You work proactively to identify needs for legal development and ensure that desired legal development is implemented as far as possible. You ensure that the Legal Secretariat supports all parts of the agency and that the department actively contributes to the agency's extensive development work. The ongoing digitalization entails major changes and increased demands on how we handle data, documents and archives. Our long-term direction and business plan make clear that information management is a prioritized area. As Chief Legal Counsel, your task will be to help continuously improve and develop this area as well as the secretariat's other areas of responsibility. The Chief Legal Counsel has the right to represent Kammarkollegiet before courts and other authorities, according to special delegation, and has the right to make decisions for the entire agency on matters of disclosure of public records. The Chief Legal Counsel is also responsible publisher of Kammarkollegiet's regulatory collection, KAMFS. The Chief Legal Counsel reports directly to the Director General and is part of the agency's management group. Are you our future colleague? We are looking for you who have: - Swedish law degree/law examination (180/270 credits) - Several years of leadership experience with personnel and budget responsibility - Several years of experience working at another government agency or the Government Offices and good knowledge of the public administration - Experience working with governing documents - Experience conducting court proceedings - Experience in business development and change management - Solid knowledge of administrative law and state governance. Meritorious for the position are: - Appellate Court or Chamber of Commerce assessor - Experience from other legal areas that Kammarkollegiet handles - Experience in legislative work Personal Qualities To succeed in this role, you have the ability to create engagement and participation. More Information You will be located at our welcoming office in Gamla stan, Stockholm, where we work flexibly both at the office and with some possibility for remote work. The position is a permanent employment that begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date as soon as possible according to agreement. Employment with us may involve placement in a security classification. A security clearance with background check under the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted. For some of our work assignments in security classification, Swedish citizenship is required.
