At the Swedish Migration Agency, we work on one of our time's major societal issues – migration. In total, we are approximately 6,000 people here, and we have an unusually important mission! The Funds Unit is an independent function at the Swedish Migration Agency tasked with managing the European Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF), an EU fund intended to implement the EU's common migration policy in member states. Through our role as managing authority, we ensure that the EU's migration policy takes effect and creates tangible benefits in Sweden. Our role as managing authority includes program planning and calls for project funding, review and assessment of project applications, monitoring of projects, reporting to the EU Commission, and dissemination of results. The Funds Unit consists of two divisions with a total of approximately 30 employees, located in Stockholm and Norrköping. About the Assignment We are seeking someone who will be responsible for driving the strategic leadership, governance, and development of the fund's work. The role includes budget, personnel, and work environment responsibility. You report to the Swedish Migration Agency's Deputy Director General. As a department head, you are responsible for leading operations where goal achievement, a good work environment, and continuous development work are prioritized highly. You lead and work through your two subordinate unit heads and create the conditions necessary for them to carry out their assignments in the best way possible. Through participation, engagement, and continuous development of the department's work, you leverage and strengthen the motivation that exists among employees. You have overall responsibility for further developing various types of policies and guidelines and creating the conditions for lawful and efficient implementation of the fund. An important part of the work will be to continuously develop and improve working methods to monitor, measure, and ensure that the Funds Unit works according to the correct assignment, priorities, and objectives. We Are Looking for Someone Who Has Academic education in subjects that the employer deems relevant for the position Knowledge of EU processes and working methods Managerial experience within a government agency Experience leading and working at a strategic level with overall responsibility for governance, monitoring, and results Ability to express yourself very well orally and in writing in Swedish and English Swedish citizenship It is a merit if you have Experience managing EU funds and projects Experience working at the Government Offices Experience as a manager overseeing other managers A security clearance with background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) will be conducted before a decision on employment – which requires Swedish citizenship.
