The Fund Management Function is an independent unit at the Swedish Migration Agency tasked with managing the European Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF), an EU fund designed to implement the EU's common migration policy in member states. Through our role as managing authority, we ensure that the EU's migration policy has real impact and creates concrete benefit in Sweden. Our role as managing authority includes program planning and calls for project funding, review and assessment of project applications, project monitoring, reporting to the EU Commission, and dissemination of results. The Fund Management Function consists of two units with a total of approximately 30 employees, located in Stockholm and Norrköping. About the Assignment We are seeking someone to lead the strategic direction, governance, and development of fund operations. The role includes responsibility for budget, personnel, and work environment. You will report to the Swedish Migration Agency's Deputy Director General. As a department head, you are responsible for leading operations where achieving targets, a good work environment, and continuous development work are given high priority. You lead and work through your two subordinate unit heads and create the conditions necessary for them to perform their tasks effectively. Through participation, engagement, and continuous development of the department's work, you leverage and strengthen the motivation of your team members. You have overall responsibility for further developing various types of policies and guidelines and creating conditions for legally sound and efficient fund implementation. An important part of the work will be to continuously develop and improve methods for monitoring, measuring, and ensuring that the Fund Management Function operates according to the correct mandate, priorities, and goals. We Are Looking For Someone Who Has • Academic education in subjects that the employer deems relevant to the position • Knowledge of EU processes and procedures • Management experience within a state agency • Experience leading and working at a strategic level with overall responsibility for governance, monitoring, and results • Ability to express yourself very well in speech and writing in Swedish and English • Swedish citizenship It Is Meritorious If You Have • Experience managing EU funds and projects • Experience working at the Government Offices of Sweden • Experience as a manager of other managers A security clearance with criminal record check under the Security Protection Act (2018:585) will be conducted before an employment decision is made – which requires Swedish citizenship. Employment is conditional on passing the security clearance.
