Now we are looking for you who want to lead Skaraborg's development in education and competence - in close collaboration with business, academia, municipalities, and regional actors As Chief of the Knowledge Development Area, you will have a central role in shaping future education and competence supply solutions in a region facing major establishments, growing labor markets, and extensive development initiatives. Your main responsibility is to lead and coordinate the education matters of Skaraborg's municipalities, which are managed within Education Skaraborg. You work primarily through various networks consisting of the municipalities' education directors and their responsible elected representatives, while also managing the association's prioritized assignments and projects in this area. In this role, you will be an important representative for West Sweden's joint effort around education and competence. You collaborate closely with municipalities in Skaraborg, other sub-regional municipal associations, the Västra Götaland Region, universities, as well as regional industry organizations and authorities. The role also involves representing the association in national contexts and, together with the association director, meeting business leaders and industry actors regarding major establishments and strategic competence supply initiatives. The relationship with the University of Skövde and other educational institutions is prioritized. Knowledge Development Area As Chief of the Knowledge Development Area, you lead one of the association's three thematic operations and have personnel, work environment, and operational responsibility for approximately ten employees. Together with your team, you coordinate the municipalities' school and education matters and drive Skaraborg's joint development agenda in education and competence. You are also responsible for joint operational assignments, such as the Skaraborg-wide upper secondary school admissions process. A large part of the operations is conducted within the structure of Education Skaraborg, which is based on the municipalities' collaboration strategy with a focus on Completed Education and Competence Supply. The assignment is both strategic and operational, giving you significant scope to shape and develop the work together with the municipalities. You operate in a regional context where Skaraborg has important influence, and you need to be able to see and act from both local, regional, and national perspectives. You work closely with Skaraborg's school and education directors and their management and professional networks, where several of your assignments are initiated. Development work often takes place in project form and in close cooperation with business, academia, and regional and national networks. The role requires that you can lead through others and work at multiple levels simultaneously, from political governance and regional collaboration to operational development close to the activities. You report to the association director and are part of the association's management where you together gather initiatives and development capacity for the municipalities' common benefit, and where you have significant freedom to lead, influence, and create real progress. Qualifications We are looking for you who: - have a relevant academic degree within the responsibility area or other equivalent education that the employer deems equivalent - have several years of experience in strategic leadership in complex organizations and are comfortable switching between strategic and operational assignments - have experience in governance, monitoring, and development at an overarching level - have good knowledge of municipal organization, assignments, and conditions, particularly within education and competence supply - have experience working as a manager - have documented experience leading change and development work, preferably in broad collaboration - have good digital competence and are used to using modern digital working methods, collaboration tools, and AI support to streamline development and collaboration - have good communication skills in speaking and writing in Swedish It is meritorious if you: - have completed a leadership development program at a higher level focused on strategic leadership and governance - have good understanding of working in a politically governed organization - have experience in leading roles within school operations, preferably with responsibility toward a political board or committee You combine confident and clear leadership with an open, collaborative approach.
