About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now seeking additional staff members. Position Overview
The Transport Department (TA) carries out transports of individuals in custody. Our clients include the Prison and Probation Service's remand facilities and prisons, as well as the Police, the Migration Agency, the country's healthcare regions, the National Board of Institutional Care, and others. TA performs approximately 120,000 transports per year, of which approximately 3,000 are to other countries. The Transport Planning Unit is responsible for planning all of these transports.
Responsibilities
As local manager for 11 transport planners and 2 administrators, you have personnel, budget, and work environment responsibilities. The Transport Department's planning sections function both as service providers to external clients and as clients to our transport section, creating a complexity that requires both smooth collaboration and efficiency. As manager, you ensure that human and material resources are used as optimally as possible.
Maintaining good collaboration with our clients and customers is an important part of your work. The focus of your work is operational leadership – supporting your staff on matters related to safety, planning work, staffing, and prioritization of ordered transports. You collaborate locally, regionally, and nationally with other managers within the transport planning unit to optimize resource allocation and prioritization. You report to the Transport Planning South Section Manager and are part of the management group for the Southern Transport Planning Area.
Your planning area includes Malmö, Helsingborg, Kristianstad, Växjö, Kalmar, Jönköping, Västervik, Norrköping, and Arvidsjaur. Regular travel within your planning area and other official travel within Sweden will occur. Work location: Malmö (Helsingborg/Kristianstad).
Qualifications

We are looking for someone with:
• University degree or other education combined with work experience
• Experience as a manager (with personnel, budget, and work environment responsibilities)
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
• Driver's license for passenger vehicles
Meritorious qualifications include:
• Experience working in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's transport operations
• Experience with processes typical of public sector work
• Experience working in an organization divided into client and service provider functions
• Experience with forecasting and planning work from a logistics perspective, preferably in transport
• Extensive experience with change management
