About the Swedish Correctional Service The Swedish Correctional Service is expanding – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now seeking more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the cycle of crime. When we succeed, society becomes safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation services, remand centers, and inmate transport. Hinseberg Operations Area, located outside Frövi approximately 30 km northeast of Örebro, has been Sweden's largest women's prison since the 1960s. The operations area now also includes a high-security remand center for both men and women with capacity for 60 detainees. In total, Hinseberg has just over 220 places and is facing major expansion in the coming years. As a result, VO Hinseberg is now expanding with an additional correctional inspector. The largest occupational group is correctional officers, but the facility also employs healthcare professionals, administrative staff, educators, production managers, and others.
