The Community Development Office is seeking a driven and development-oriented manager for the Building Project Management unit. We have several large ongoing investment and development projects in both planning and execution phases. A Day on the Job The Building Project Management unit currently sits within the Execution Area, which is one of three areas in the Community Development Office. The area consists, in addition to building project management, of five other units: roads and traffic, land and real estate, building permits, parks and landscape, and parking, and we are a total of approximately 100 people. You will be part of the area's management group but also the office's joint steering group for projects and contribute your knowledge and expertise to develop together. The unit currently consists of approximately 10 internal employees and an equal number of external consultants. The group is stable, experienced, and possesses high competence within building project management and construction management. In the role, you have personnel responsibility for the unit's employees and are responsible for creating clear roles, assignments, and good conditions for both delivery and development. Building Project Management assists in the municipality's larger investment and development projects and serves as project owner for execution. The unit often works on behalf of other parts of the office, which places high demands on cooperation, coordination, and a holistic perspective. The role involves many internal and external contact points. Who Are You? Because the unit operates in a complex and consultant-heavy project environment, it is important that you are a confident leader with good understanding of construction and infrastructure. You have a genuine interest in leadership and are motivated by developing people, working methods, and forms of collaboration. As a leader within the community development office, you actively participate in continuously improving the entire office and work for good cooperation with other units and external parties. To succeed in the role, you need to be clear and structured, able to prioritize and create direction, and have the ability to build trust and good relationships in an experienced group. We are looking for someone who is independent, confident in your leadership, and who enjoys a role where you lead through others. You are available when needed, without micromanaging, and you see the value in supporting, developing, and creating good collaborations both within the unit and with other parts of the organization. As unit manager, you are responsible for operations, finances, personnel, and work environment, as well as creating the right conditions for project execution through good resource planning, follow-up, and governance. Requirements: - At least five years of experience in community development and infrastructure, of which at least three years as a manager and leader in the field. - Experience with operations, finances, and budget responsibility as well as personnel responsibility. - Meritorious higher education in community development, preferably a civil engineer in road and water/urban planning or other relevant education. - Experience with construction projects and AMA Construction. - Knowledge of construction law. - Swedish in speech and writing. Meritorious: - Experience working in politically governed operations. - Leadership training. - Knowledge of LOU (Public Procurement Act). - Work environment in construction projects.
