We supplement the special educational resources of municipalities and schools. The support we offer can involve an individual's learning, educators' work, or operations and organization. 1 position(s). JOB DUTIES The Special Educational Support business area provides support to schools and school operators through: • Advisory services • Professional development • Special educational assessments • Promotion and production of educational materials • Government grants • Quality dialogues Right now we are engaged in intensive development work within the agency to strengthen support to schools and school operators. As Head of the Advisory Department, you will lead 9 units with approximately 140 employees who work at different offices around the country. You lead the work through trust-based management and governance where the needs of our target groups are central. You support your employees in monitoring unit initiatives for the purpose of systematically analyzing results and deepening understanding of target groups and their conditions. You also contribute to systematically drawing lessons from completed work and building on SPSM's shared knowledge base, which is based on research and proven experience. Your responsibilities also include clarifying and developing the collective special educational support for those we serve. As head, you are responsible for the department's operations, personnel, finances, and work environment. Together with your managers and employees and in collaboration with worker organizations, you work to achieve the goals outlined in the operations plan. You are part of the business area's management group. Your assignment includes contributing to the business area's and agency's overall operations but also driving issues related to the Advisory Department's work and responsibilities. The work requires close collaboration with other operations within the agency. The assignment involves: • leading and developing operations within the department and business area • taking responsibility for external contacts and collaborations with other stakeholders • monitoring, evaluating, and analyzing special educational interventions and their effects Placement location: Härnösand, Malmö, Örebro, Gothenburg, or Stockholm. Travel is included in the position. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who has • an academic degree with a focus on education, political science, social science, or other education that the employer considers equivalent • experience as a manager of managers in a politically governed organization • worked strategically in a management group It is advantageous if you have: • experience as a manager in state operations • experience in the special education and/or disability policy field • experience leading remote employees • experience in change management As a leader, you have a good ability to find solutions together with others. Your leadership is characterized by curiosity and providing good support for your employees' development and engagement. You work from the agency's goals and the support we should provide to those we serve, and you are clear in your communication and expectations. You have the courage to make decisions for the good of the organization and point out development needs. We place great importance on your personal qualities. Employment form: Permanent employment. Duration: Commencement: Start according to agreement. The position is advertised in multiple locations.
