We are seeking a head for the local supply section in our national operations department. With us, you will take on an important assignment where you work with current societal issues that are affected by what happens in our surrounding world. The Swedish Migration Agency is undergoing a period of development based on the government's reform agenda in the migration area and the implementation of the EU's new migration and asylum pact. The agency therefore faces changes that will affect the section's work, such as the implementation of reception and return centers and an expansion of the number of detention places.
The National Operations Department (NOA) is part of the Swedish Migration Agency's operational activities and is of national overarching or international character. The department consists of five sections (40 units) and a secretariat. NOA is responsible for, among other things, the agency's local supply, national control and analysis work, case distribution, contact centers, state reimbursements, and international operations at our overseas offices. The department has approximately 850 employees stationed at ten locations in Sweden, and also has personnel placed at several locations around the world.
About Your Assignment
In your role as head of the local supply section, work is characterized by high pace and great variety of tasks. You have nine direct subordinate managers and just over 170 employees around Sweden. The majority of the section's managers are located in Norrköping. In addition, unit managers are also located in Sundbyberg, Gothenburg, and Malmö. As head of the section, you are responsible for the agency's local supply and property management, including rental and maintenance costs, for all administrative facilities, detention facilities, and collective housing for asylum seekers.
You collaborate and communicate both internally and externally and represent both the department and the agency in various contexts. You develop the section's operations and ensure an efficient and sustainable organization with a good working environment. You work closely with the unit managers and draw on their support in your work as you lead and develop the section, both in day-to-day operations and in the long-term perspective. You ensure that there are conditions for participation, collaboration, and for goals to be implemented, realized, and followed up. You create understanding of context, direction, and the target images the agency has set, and develop the plans your operations need. You have overall responsibility for employees, budget, and working environment. You report to the Director of NOA and are part of the department's management group.

In our work as civil servants, high demands are also placed on judgment and a high level of security and confidentiality awareness.
You who are applying have:
an academic degree, for example in construction or real estate, civil engineer, law, economics, or other education that the employer considers relevant
multi-year current management experience with responsibility for operations, budget, and working environment
experience leading through other managers
experience working with local supply and property management
experience with public procurement
Swedish citizenship.
It is advantageous if you have:
good insight into the state budget process and Swedish public administration
management experience in public operations
business and contractor law expertise
A security clearance with register check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) will be conducted. Employment is conditional upon approved security clearance.
Terms
Employment form: Permanent position, probation may be applied.
Working hours: Office hours with the possibility of agreement on trust-based working hours. Work location: Norrköping or Sundbyberg. Travel within Sweden is included in the position.
Start date: By agreement.
