The Swedish Psychological Defence Agency safeguards the open and democratic society and free formation of opinion by identifying, analyzing, and countering improper information influence and other misleading information directed at Sweden or Swedish interests. The Agency is led by a Director General and has approximately 90 employees. The Agency has offices in Karlstad and Solna. The DG's Office supports the Director General in strategic coordination, development, administration, and leadership of the Agency. The Office's responsibilities include leading and coordinating the Agency's international operations. We are now establishing a unit for international affairs located at the DG's Office. The organization of the Agency's international affairs has been reviewed to develop and strengthen international work and create improved conditions for strategic work in implementing the Agency's mission. The role of unit head is therefore new, and there are significant opportunities to help shape it. Responsibilities As Head of the International Affairs Unit, you are responsible for operations, personnel, and budget. You report to the Office Director. You will lead a team of qualified staff in coordinating the Agency's international operations, including secondments, and the Agency's tasks related to Ukraine. Your role includes ensuring ongoing operations as well as driving issues at a strategic level. This means you are expected to be able to relate processes and issues to current policy developments in Sweden and internationally, and to the breadth of the Agency's mission. Your role includes external collaboration with other agencies and organizations nationally and internationally. You will also promote cooperation internally with other departments at the Agency. In practice, this means ensuring that the unit contributes relevant knowledge and coordination. International business travel will occur. Qualifications This position requires: An academic degree that the employer finds relevant. Current managerial experience or leadership experience in areas relevant to the Agency. Experience working in the Government Offices, a Swedish state agency, EU institutions, or NATO. Experience driving development projects and leading in times of change. Very good knowledge of Swedish and English. It is a merit if you have: Good knowledge of total defense and security policy. Experience from other international organizations relevant to the Agency's operations. You have good communication skills, sound judgment, and a clear commitment to the state's core values. As a unit head, you should be able to represent the Agency in national and international contexts where high professionalism and judgment are essential. Employment terms The position is permanent, full-time, and begins with a probationary period. We conduct a security clearance with record check according to the Security Protection Act. In some cases, Swedish citizenship is required. The Agency is part of Sweden's total defense framework, and the position therefore includes wartime assignment. We look forward to your application!
