Nationalmuseum is a state agency with approximately 160 employees with the mission to promote art, interest in art, and art history. The museum's collections include paintings, sculptures, drawings, and prints from the 1500s to the early 1900s, while collections of crafts and design, as well as portrait art, extend to the present day.
The collections are displayed in the main building on Blasieholmen, Stockholm and at approximately 20 additional locations including Gripsholm Palace, Läckö Palace, Nationalmuseum Jamtli in Östersund, and Gustavsbergs Porcelain Museum. Nationalmuseum also conducts exhibition, program, research, and publication activities as well as loan services. By providing contemporary perspectives on history and historical perspectives on the present, we enable in-depth conversations about art and design for all ages.
The Administrative Unit is one of five units within the Management Department at Nationalmuseum. Within the unit are the functions of finance, HR, procurement and legal matters, registry, and executive management support. In addition to the unit head, six people work in the unit.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Nationalmuseum is seeking a knowledgeable and independent economist with strong leadership qualities. You will have personnel responsibility for all employees in the unit (currently five people). Through clear leadership, you create a trusting and pleasant workplace where employees feel involved and have the opportunity to develop. Together, you contribute to achieving the agency's goals.
In your role as finance director, you are responsible for Nationalmuseum's financial model, financial management, and overall accounting matters. Nationalmuseum is a full-service client of the State Service Center. You are responsible for, among other things, budget compilation and presentation, developing follow-ups and forecasts, other financial reporting, and preparing materials for the annual report. You continuously drive efforts to develop and streamline the agency's administrative processes and ensure that the agency's financial management complies with applicable laws and regulations.
You work closely with the agency director and management director and serve as important support to all managers at the agency. You may be invited to join the agency's management team when needed, where you are expected to present matters within your area of responsibility.
REQUIREMENTS
Academic degree in business administration or other education that the employer considers equivalent
At least 5 years of experience in qualified financial work in a state agency
At least 3 years of experience with personnel responsibility
At least 3 years of experience driving development and improvement of financial and operations management in a state agency
Experience coordinating the preparation of annual reports in a state agency
Experience preparing financial information for annual reports
Experience working with and supporting managers in the organization
Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
MERITS
Experience planning and conducting training within your own organization
Experience with project management
Experience working with the Unit4/Agresso accounting system
As a person, you are structured, systematic, and analytical with strong leadership qualities. You are also pedagogical and have good collaboration skills. You enjoy supporting and collaborating with employees at all levels in the organization and have no problem conducting training or informing others in large or small groups.
