My name is Erik Carlsson and I lead the Indirect Material & Services procurement group. We are looking for a Category Manager to join our procurement group who will manage categories related to process-critical equipment. You will become part of our team of 9 people and work closely with both our operations and our suppliers to drive procurement strategies, procurement processes, and risk management. Sourcing at Billerud is on an exciting transformation journey where we work category-driven with many internal and external contacts.
The group consists of people from both the paper and pulp industry as well as from other areas of industrial manufacturing. We offer an independent and developmentally oriented role in an international environment where you will have a key position in our ongoing transformation journey. As a Category Manager at Billerud, you are given great authority to work independently to advance your categories, and we in the team enjoy bouncing ideas off each other, both large and small.
We in Billerud's group-wide Sourcing function are responsible for ensuring cost-effective and sustainable supply of raw materials, equipment, and services – both in the short and long term. Our goal is to create value through continuous improvements, standardization, collaboration, and supplier development.
In this role, you are responsible for:
- Developing, implementing, and continuously following up on the strategy for the categories you manage.
- Driving procurement, negotiations, and establishing cost-effective agreements.
- Managing and proactively working to minimize risks in the supply chain.
- Analyzing Billerud's cost structure within the categories to shape and drive future efficiency initiatives together with our five mills throughout Sweden.
- Developing working methods and processes together with the group and actively participating in various forums within the group.
- The role includes an administrative component, where you will work with spend analyses, structured reports, and document management. Much of our administration is currently done in Excel.
The role is located at one of our mills in Skärblacka (Norrköping), Grums (Karlstad), Frövi (Örebro), Karlsborg (Kalix), Gävle, or at our head office in Solna, Stockholm. Travel may occur as part of the position.
Qualifications:
- University or college degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Experience in strategic procurement.
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally and driving initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
- Good negotiation skills and knowledge of contract law.
It is advantageous if you have:
- Previous experience with strategic procurement in maintenance and indirect materials.
- Experience from process industry.
- Technical experience gained through studies or work experience.
- Experience with SAP, as we are undergoing an ongoing ERP system change.
