With Present – Praying – Reconciling as guiding principles, the Church of Sweden in Lund is taking new steps to meet future challenges. The Church of Sweden in Lund is a pastorate with 7 parishes, 1 cathedral, 15 churches including one cooperative church with EFS, 3 chapels, and 2 preschools, burial services and an administrative office.
We also have a Hospital Church, Family Counseling and a Diaconal Center. We have over 200 employees and many volunteers, including over 130 elected representatives. The Church Council has overall responsibility and all activities are led by the Dean. Each parish has a parish council and parish pastor.
WORK TASKS
In Domkyrkoforum, located south of Lund Cathedral, visitors from many parts of the world gather—parishioners, confirmation students, tourists, employees and volunteers. School classes, conference participants and others come here for study visits to Lund Cathedral.
In the midst of this flow of people is the cathedral parish's café, which is open every day of the week.
As a café attendant, you are the face of the Church of Sweden in Lund. You represent the Church of Sweden and our Christian values. Your work tasks include participating in the daily café operations, handling the cash register, restocking items, placing orders and maintaining good order. You will also provide information about the cathedral parish, assist visitors with questions, handle materials and information from Visit Lund, and to some extent, when needed, assist with conference activities.
QUALIFICATIONS AND MERITS
We are looking for someone with experience working in a café, serving or similar, and who enjoys meeting people. Experience with Church of Sweden activities is also a merit. We require that you are a member of the Church of Sweden and share the Church of Sweden's values.
Good knowledge of English is a requirement. Basic knowledge of Danish and German is a merit.
You need to have some computer experience and be able to operate audio and visual systems.

ABOUT THE POSITION
This is a permanent position, 50% with start date September 1, 2026 or by agreement.
We apply a 6-month probationary period.
Salary by agreement, collective agreement is the Church of Sweden agreement 2025.
