About the Position As a building inspector, you're responsible for the technical handling of building matters from notification to final decision. You conduct technical consultations, site visits, and final consultations, and exercise supervision according to the Planning and Building Act. In addition to working as a building inspector, you have an important role in the administration's development work. You're responsible for administration, development, and ongoing management of the activity system Castor, and you actively contribute to developing and streamlining work processes, routines, and methods within the activity. The role involves close collaboration with colleagues and other functions to ensure that our digital tools and work methods support lawful, efficient, and service-oriented handling. The position's main focus is on the building process and supervision work, but some handling of building permit and notification matters may occur. Qualifications We're looking for someone with education in building technology, building engineering, or other education/experience that the employer considers equivalent. You have experience from the building industry and a good understanding of the different stages of the building process. If you've worked as a building inspector, building permit handler, or in a similar role, that's a merit, as is experience from contracting, design, or as a supervisory responsible. We'd like to see that you have experience with: Technical consultations, control plans, start decisions, site visits, final consultations, and final decisions. Public administration and supervision according to planning and building legislation. The Planning and Building Act (PBL), the Planning and Building Ordinance (PBF), and Boverket's regulations. Handling of building permit and notification matters. Work with activity development, digitalization, and process improvements. You need to be able to read and assess technical drawings and documents, and express yourself well in Swedish, both spoken and written. Personal Qualities The role involves many contact points and requires both professionalism and good communication skills. You have the ability to build trust and explain legislation, rules, and decisions in a pedagogical way, even in situations where different interests need to be weighed against each other.
