Job Responsibilities As a building conservator with us, you have the opportunity to vary your work tasks. The work includes, for example, advisory services in building conservation and cultural environment, conservation participation in construction projects, documentation and cultural historical assessments, handling of referrals, project management, collaboration with municipalities and other actors, as well as educational activities such as lectures and guided tours. You will be part of the museum's cultural environment team and work closely with other conservators as well as archive and exhibition staff. About the Workplace Västmanland County Museum is a cultural history museum. We have activities within the areas of education, exhibitions, archives, collections, and cultural environment conservation. The museum works with preservation, documentation, and development of cultural environments, both in the city and in the countryside. Together with municipalities, authorities, property owners, and the public, we work to preserve and make accessible the built cultural heritage of Västmanland. The museum is part of Region Västmanland and is located in historic premises at Karlsgatan 2 in central Västerås. The workplace also has staff working with regional culture and Västerås Art Museum. It is meritorious if you have previously worked within the museum sector and have experience in building conservation work such as inventories, advisory services, and conservation participation. If you also have experience with handling referrals or report writing, that is advantageous. Since a large part of the work involves collaborating with others, you communicate well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. Additional language skills are meritorious. A B-class driver's license is required for the position. As a person, you are accommodating in your working style through your willingness and interest in helping others.
