You will be part of the unit for spatial planning and cultural environment. Together we are responsible for coordinating state interests, national interests and public interests according to the Environmental Code, the Planning and Building Act and the Cultural Heritage Act, supervision within the planning and building sector, consultations and review of decisions on municipal overview and detailed plans, as well as state support and grants within the housing and energy sectors and for the care of cultural environments. The tasks also include working to ensure that our cultural heritage and cultural environments are cared for, preserved and developed.
About the job
The role as a building conservationist suits you if you have expertise in the field of building conservation and want to build up your experience.
You will work together with our three building conservationists.
Examples of work tasks include handling matters within the building conservation field (grants for the care of cultural environments, decisions on permits concerning listed buildings and ecclesiastical cultural monuments as well as supervision according to the Cultural Heritage Act), responding to internal consultations in permit matters according to the Environmental Code, Planning and Building Act and more, registration of incoming documents with other administrative tasks, providing advice and guidance to applicants within your area of responsibility. The tasks can be adapted to your background and competence.

About you
We are looking for you who have:
an academic bachelor's or master's degree in building conservation studies or alternatively other relevant education that the employer deems equivalent
experience of similar work tasks within the cultural environment field
good knowledge of cultural heritage legislation
good ability to communicate and provide information in a simple and understandable way both in writing and orally in Swedish
a driver's license for a passenger car
As a person you are responsible, structured and flexible. You have the ability to prioritize, stick to set deadlines and bring to completion what you have started. You are good at collaborating and communicating with others, and can also work independently with assigned tasks. The work includes cooperation with external parties and you are good at engaging in dialogue and cooperating with others.
We consider it a merit if you have:
experience of case handling in public operations, such as at a county administrative board, municipality or museum.
experience working with matters of national interest and/or spatial planning issues according to the Planning and Building Act and the Environmental Code
experience preparing knowledge bases and/or procurement documents
knowledge of cultural geography

We use a six-month probationary period.

Since certain work with us requires security clearance, you may be asked to undergo a security clearance before employment. This includes a security clearance interview and record check. For certain positions, Swedish citizenship is required.
