Description As a Building Permit Officer, you will become an important contact person for residents, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders who want to realize their building projects. Our goal is that every applicant feels welcome, heard, and receives clear guidance throughout the process. The work involves handling cases within building permit activities such as building permits, demolition permits, notifiable measures, inspections, and preliminary decisions, among other things. It also involves providing advice before applications and helping applicants understand legislation, requirements, and possible solutions based on their specific situation. You will be part of a team that values collaboration, commitment, and a high level of service. We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in people and who thrives in an advisory role. You find it self-evident to treat each person with respect, understanding, and professional conduct, even when questions are complex or decisions are not what the applicant hoped for. You also have the ability to understand the applicant's perspective and can explain legislation and decisions in a simple, clear, and educational manner. Qualifications Requirements: Relevant education in urban development, building permit handling, architecture, or other education and/or experience that the employer deems equivalent. Good knowledge of the Planning and Building Act and the Boverket Building Regulations. Good knowledge and experience working with digital tools. Good Swedish in speech and writing. Class B driver's license. Merits: Academic education in cultural heritage, for example the Building Heritage Conservation program. Experience with professional customer contact with high service focus and work in an advisory role. Experience with building permit handling and public authority work in a politically governed organization. Experience presenting cases to a committee. Experience with the case management system EDP Vision and the map system MyCarta.
