About us
The Building Permits Unit is part of the Building and Environment Office, which has a total of approximately 40 employees. The unit is responsible for handling building permits and supervision in accordance with the Planning and Building Act (PBL). We always work with a focus on overall community development with the aim of having an efficient and customer-oriented processing process. We are an engaged team that discusses and shares knowledge and experiences with one another. This is to jointly contribute to high quality with legally sound and consistent application of the PBL.
About the position
As a building permit processor with us, you work independently and in collaboration with your colleagues, with digital processing of various types of building cases in accordance with applicable laws and practices. The types of cases you work with vary based on your specialized knowledge and the needs of the business and can therefore vary among all case types the unit is responsible for.
At an early stage, before submitting a building permit application, you are available for advice to the public and business customers and provide good service and professional treatment both in visits, by phone, and in our digital channels. We simply want it to be easy to apply for building permits that are complete, correct, and legally sound according to laws and regulations – and you are an important part of that.
You and your colleagues contribute to the unit's development work, continuously work to improve our processes, and participate in collaboration with other administrations and units. Together we develop our building permit service to facilitate cooperation with the business community and improve our customer satisfaction index (NKI). You may also conduct investigations, prepare in-depth assignments, and participate in ongoing urban planning tasks.
To maintain high quality in the work, environmental monitoring, skills development, and participation in projects are essential parts.
Are you the one we are looking for?
We are looking for you who:
Have a higher education degree as a construction engineer, architect, or have another educational background that the employer deems suitable for the position
Have several years of experience processing building permits in politically governed operations.
Have very good knowledge of relevant regulations such as PBL, PBF, and BBR.
Have very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both spoken and written. If you also speak other languages, we see that as an advantage.
It is meritorious if you have:
Experience with the case management system Nova
Competence in design and cultural heritage through education or work
Experience with PBL supervision
As a building permit processor, you have many points of contact and are the office's face to Väsby residents and building actors. We therefore see that you enjoy contact and relationships with customers and are driven by contributing to the overall experience in the community development process and are confident in your own assignment. You are unpretentious and meet every person with understanding and respect, show humility, are responsive, and have a focus on the individual.
