Svenska kraftnät is one of the most important actors in Sweden's sustainable energy transition. As a "Construction Manager, Early Stages" you are offered one of Sweden's most important jobs. About the position As Svenska kraftnät moves more projects into the construction phase, higher demands are placed on the construction manager role even in the early stages. The role is therefore expanding from primarily being active in the field to also encompassing support on buildability and other construction-technical aspects early in projects. As a construction manager in the early stages, you have overall responsibility for construction-technical issues within Svenska kraftnät's overhead line projects. In consultation with the projects' technical support, you are responsible for strategic decisions on construction-technical matters affecting projects within various programs—that is, Svenska kraftnät's project portfolios for facility projects. The focus is primarily on transmission issues, but the role also covers land, foundation, and buildability matters. You are responsible for the handover to construction managers within transmission and land/foundation ahead of construction start and work closely with unit team leaders responsible for resource allocation. The role therefore requires broad expertise and understanding of overarching issues, particularly in transmission, but also in land and foundation. The construction manager role at Svenska kraftnät is divided into two areas of expertise: transmission and land/foundation. While construction managers normally work to monitor contractors' work on the construction site and ensure that overhead lines are built according to guidelines and contracts, construction managers in the early stages focus on the time before construction start. Work is conducted primarily from Svenska kraftnät's offices, supplemented by certain field visits and the possibility of some remote work. There is also the opportunity to participate to a limited extent in construction inspections to maintain connection to execution. This role is primarily oriented toward transmission since most issues concern overhead lines. You primarily have responsibility for supporting programs and projects in the early stages with a focus on preparations ahead of the construction phase as well as review of documents and other construction-technical support in early project phases. Your work tasks include, among other things: - Coordinate construction-technical issues within and between programs, projects, and line operations. - Review technical documents in design documents and procurement documents from a construction perspective, before sending out requests for tender. - Act as a sounding board to projects and programs and discuss and participate in solutions to technical issues, such as sectioning, conductor routing, outage times, construction times, and procurement strategy ahead of the construction phase. - Furthermore, you participate in technical/design meetings and program meetings. You may also contribute to the development of new standard designs within Svenska kraftnät's standard tower family with a focus on the construction perspective. The units currently consist of just over 20 employees and approximately 30 consultants, several of whom are among the country's most experienced in construction management of power lines. Operations are geographically divided into North and South, where your duty station mainly determines which unit you belong to. The units are responsible for construction inspection in the renovation and new construction of overhead lines. You also have: - Several years of work experience in construction management, construction, or production planning of overhead lines 130 kV or higher. - Good knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing. - Class B driver's license. Meritorious - Several years of work experience in construction management, construction, or production planning of overhead lines 220 kV or higher. - Experience working on larger collaboration projects within transmission or other infrastructure. - Experience in project management of infrastructure projects. - Experience working with AB 04, ABT 06, and/or AMA.
