PMU SECOND HAND – Your Find Changes Lives and the Environment
PMU Second Hand is Sweden's most nationwide secondhand chain. Together with our partner congregations/organizations, we operate 57 stores between Trelleborg and Haparanda. 25 of these are fully administered by PMU, which means we have direct employer responsibility there. The purpose of the stores is to create financial resources for international projects that PMU or our partners support. Through the stores, we also make major social contributions locally. Shopping secondhand is also the most environmentally smart consumption option. We want to challenge congregations to see PMU Second Hand as a tool for the congregation to truly be a congregation.
We believe a secondhand store needs to be run professionally but customers should continue to feel they are making discoveries. We want donors, employees, and customers to feel that they are truly changing lives and the environment. Everyone's contribution is that important.
Our mission as a central organization is to support the stores in running and developing their operations successfully. We also have a mission to open more stores.
ABOUT THE STORE
Together with LP National, we operate a fresh store in Haninge. The store is well-established and known in its area and is in an expansive and developing phase. We plan to relocate the store to a more central location with larger space. We want to continue the positive development the store has had so far and are therefore seeking a driven and inspiring leader. The store is centrally administered by PMU Second Hand but operated locally in cooperation with LP National.
The store's objectives are to:
generate economic surplus for social and humanitarian initiatives through the projects PMU and LP are engaged in
be a social meeting place
provide employment for people outside the regular labor market
actively make a big difference for our environment
spread knowledge about the situation in developing countries
be a platform to make PMU and LP's social work more known in Haninge
ABOUT THE POSITION
As Store Manager, you will lead the day-to-day operations of the store together with the Operations Manager. You will work with other staff to supervise volunteers and people in various forms of work training. The work focuses on creating the largest possible throughput of donated goods. This means maximizing sales as well as creating an attractive store and donation reception. You will be actively involved in preparing the store for sales and working in the store when it is open.
The position also involves close cooperation with LP, which participates in operations. As Store Manager, you are ultimately responsible on-site for matters affecting daily work when the Operations Manager is not present.
You will receive good central support from the Regional Manager, Store Developer, Marketing Communicator, and Operations Management in your work. The position is full-time with start date as soon as possible/by agreement. You report to the Operations Manager.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

As a person, you are organized, results-oriented, and clear in your communication. You understand the value of sometimes being a leader and sometimes being a manager. You should have experience with similar jobs and love secondhand. You can also bring other important experience that can contribute to growth in our store.
