BUSINESS MANAGER - SHIPPING FOR INTERNATIONAL CLIENT

We are seeking a Business Manager – Shipping on behalf of one of our clients who wants to combine business development, customer responsibility, and operational responsibility in an international environment. You will play a central role in developing the commercial shipping business, strengthening customer relationships, and contributing to continued growth and profitability. The position is located abroad and requires you to be ready to relocate from Sweden. This position is being conducted on behalf of a leading and well-reputed company in the shipping, logistics, and service sector. Due to the business-critical nature of the recruitment, the company has chosen to remain anonymous at this initial stage. ABOUT THE ROLE As Business Manager – Shipping, you are responsible for developing and expanding the commercial shipping business by generating revenue that contributes to sustainable growth and profitability. The role includes responsibility for overseeing and directing the operational and administrative activities of the business and coordinating work with customers, ship owners, ports, customs authorities, and other internal and external stakeholders. You will work on developing new customers, further developing existing customer relationships, and cross-selling the company's services. An important part of the assignment is to develop the business's commercial shipping operations and contribute to ensuring that the company remains the customers' first choice for shipping services. The operations include segments such as commercial cargo vessels, dry bulk, tramp, tanker, liner, cruise, and navy. YOUR ASSIGNMENT You are responsible for developing the shipping business and ensuring that commercial, operational, and financial goals are achieved. You will: · Take responsibility for key shipping customers and develop and implement strategic plans for the business. · Develop and market services to increase volumes and revenue. · Develop new customers and further develop existing customer relationships. · Market the company's services to customers and develop relationships with international shipping customers. · Work with business areas such as dry bulk, navy, crude off takers, and commercial tanker operations. · Ensure that all shipping functions are performed efficiently. · Coordinate work with Shipping Operations Managers, Branch Managers, and operational teams to ensure efficient delivery. · Work with budgets, reporting, bidding, quotation work, and contract reviews. · Negotiate and conclude new agreements. · Monitor the business's operational and financial results and report to management. · Collaborate with customers, ship owners, ports, customs authorities, and other companies within the group to support the business. The role also includes responsibility for employee development, planning of the business's resource needs, and monitoring of business performance. YOUR PROFILE We are looking for someone with a solid background in shipping and experience in developing business, building customer relationships, and driving commercial activities. You are used to working in an international environment with many contact points and have good understanding of both business and operational matters within the shipping field. We believe you have: · At least 10 years of business experience. · Solid experience from shipping or related operations. · Experience with shipping-related services. · Experience in business development, customer responsibility, and commercial work. · Experience in bidding, quotation preparation, contract review, and negotiations. · Knowledge of local and international business laws. · Experience with budget work, reporting, and business monitoring. · Very good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.
