Do you believe the best part of work is the people you meet and the positive change you can contribute to? Would you like to work with a dedicated team to create financial stability and a brighter future for our residents? Then you might be the person we're looking for! Who are we? The Skills Development Office's mission is to make the future workforce visible and be an active part in solving Norrköping's skills supply needs. With our shared resources and professional expertise, we are a central player internally and externally for society's growth and individual development. We design effective and flexible training programs based on skills supply needs and career transitions in the labor market, with initiatives for those far from the job market. We give our residents the opportunity to grow and develop, where the path to self-sufficiency should be as short as possible. This increases residents' quality of life where more people take responsibility and contribute to a sustainable future. Skills development is the word that unites us in our mission across all the activities we work for. In the office, we have approximately 400 employees responsible for support services under the Social Services Act, municipal labor market measures, budget and debt advice, and adult education from Swedish for immigrants to vocational colleges. We provide administrative support to the Skills Development Committee. Within economic assistance, we are part of the ultimate safety net and meet people who have found themselves in a difficult situation. Our task is both to investigate the right to economic assistance and to guide the person toward self-sufficiency. Economic assistance consists of five units, of which the specialist and control unit is one. The unit works with specializations including debt recovery, dental care, appeals, incorrect payments, sampling, estate administration, and budget and debt advice. The unit employs dedicated social workers, appeals handlers, and senior social workers. Now we are looking for a new dedicated colleague for budget and debt advice! Your responsibilities As an advisor in our budget and debt advice service, you support and help our clients map their everyday finances, income and expenses. You help clients create a budget, review any debts, find a way out of debt, and support clients in applying for debt restructuring. In the role of budget and debt advisor, you get great variety in your tasks where you experience a dynamic and rewarding work environment. As an advisor, you primarily have face-to-face meetings with our clients, but also contact digitally, by phone, and email. You are an important part of collaboration with, for example, the Enforcement Authority, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, the Swedish Tax Agency, and the social office. As a budget and debt advisor, you work to provide information and education to our citizens. In a coaching and guiding manner, you contribute to creating opportunities for financial stability and a positive future for those we help. Who are you? We are looking for you who have an academic degree in law, economics, behavioral science, or other equivalent education. You have experience working with people and as a person you are secure and stable. You have a positive attitude in the situations you encounter, where you want to be part of the solution. You meet people in different situations with great respect and empathy, where you are attentive and professional. You are skilled at networking and both creating new and maintaining relationships around you, where you have a good ability to adapt your communication and message to your target audience. As a budget and debt advisor with us, we also see that you enjoy working independently and have the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize your work efficiently. To thrive in the role, you also value teamwork and collaboration, where you want to make a real difference for our residents in Norrköping.
