Training takes place through our internal training program in which AT physicians also participate. Training also occurs through independent study, but most importantly, it occurs through daily clinical work under supervision at the various clinics. You are expected to be part of the daily clinical routine and perform physician work in such a way that the target description can be fulfilled. Training content: • Introduction training for 2 weeks • Personally trained supervisors at each placement, as well as a personal chief supervisor in primary care who follows you throughout your BT. • Two BT study directors in the region responsible for training matters during BT. • Scheduled mandatory full-day trainings The service will be goal-oriented with a focus on increasing independence in the profession. Knowledge in psychiatry should be particularly considered in basic service. All appointments are for a total of 12 months divided among four service positions with the approximate distribution according to the table below. Service always starts with an introduction; thereafter, the order of placements may vary. Introduction: 2 weeks Acute care: Internal medicine: 2.5 months Surgery: 2 months Psychiatry: 2 months Vacation: 4 weeks Primary care: 4 months During placements, multiple evaluations will be conducted to assess competency level and progression. After each service period, the supervisor conducts a comprehensive assessment of your competence. All assessments are documented. Approximately halfway through BT, a BT physician collegium is held where clinic supervisors, chief supervisors, study directors, and chiefs participate to make a joint assessment of each BT physician's progression. The chief supervisor provides feedback on the assessment to the BT physician. QUALIFICATIONS Formal requirements to apply for base service training: You are a physician covered by the National Board of Health and Welfare's requirements for BT as a mandatory introductory part of ST. You can provide a Swedish physician's license from the National Board of Health and Welfare and have Swedish language skills corresponding to C1 level. Region Kronoberg applies competency-based recruitment: Beyond the formal requirements, employment also requires good references, a completed personal interview, and a clinical test. It is meritorious to have professional experience as a junior physician both before and after obtaining a Swedish physician's license, primarily in Sweden and preferably in Region Kronoberg. Also meritorious are other relevant higher education, research merits, and a doctorate. Other forms of previous employment and training in Region Kronoberg are also meritorious. BT is a training service where many skills and competencies must be acquired or strengthened within a limited time, and therefore it is important that you have very good knowledge of the Swedish language so that we can make a fair assessment of your medical competence. BT requires an extract from the criminal record register for service. After the decision on which applicants we wish to offer BT service, Region Kronoberg will request such extracts from the police authority before making an employment offer. Recruitment interviews will take place during week 45. Employment runs between 2027-02-01 and 2028-01-30. Regarding work experience as a locum junior physician, we want references from physicians who have worked with you. Operations managers may be mentioned, but not without a previously mentioned physician reference. It is of great importance that your references are prepared to answer our questions. As a BT physician, you have the ability to organize and plan your work well and handle stress constructively. It is also important that you are unpretentious in your conduct, find it easy to collaborate with others, and find solutions to emerging problems. Employment type: Fixed-term employment. Duration: 6 months or longer, start date: 2027-02-01. 12 months Work time: On-call work may occur OTHER INFORMATION Base service training (BT) has been mandatory since July 1, 2021, as the first part for those covered by the National Board of Health and Welfare's regulation HSLF-FS 2021:8 on physicians' specialist training (ST). Exempt from performing ST according to HSLF-FS 2021:8 and continuing to perform ST according to the earlier regulation on physicians' specialist training SOSFS 2015:8 without the requirement for introductory BT are only those covered by the transitional provisions. The transitional provisions apply to those who completed Swedish AT or who started but did not complete ST before July 1, 2021.
