About the Operations Welcome to Avesta! Located at the southern end of Dalarna, Avesta is a vibrant industrial town with drive and confidence in the future. Avesta offers both culture and nature-close quality of life. Here you get the calm of a small town with good connections to major cities. Avesta Hospital, inaugurated in 1922, consists of an internal medicine and geriatric clinic. The hospital has a catchment area of approximately 40,000 and is a local hospital with a 24-hour emergency department. At the emergency department and our wards, you work as a BT physician independently during day and evening shifts with active on-call support. At the hospital, we work closely together, which means you receive good collegial support. During the acute care section, you also have exchange weeks in Falun or Mora. Within psychiatry, inpatient care is provided in Säter and Falun and outpatient care in Avesta, Borlänge, and Falun. Your primary care placement will be at one of the health centers in southern Dalarna. BT is a clinical introductory service and a mandatory part of new specialist training. In Region Dalarna, we offer a consolidated time-limited employment with the goal of also helping to find our future ST physicians and specialist colleagues. Job Responsibilities Since we are looking for you as someone who wants to become our future specialist, we would like to see that you have an interest in longer-term collaboration and a willingness to help develop our operations together with us in Region Dalarna. We are looking for someone with high social competence and good judgment. You are easy to work with while also having strong leadership skills. You are mature, motivated, and have good self-awareness. You possess the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to successfully work as a BT physician. The position may often involve multiple service locations and commuting by car may be required. Start in spring 2027 - either mid-February or mid-May. The position includes, in addition to thorough introduction, clinical service under supervision within general medicine, acute care, and psychiatry, totaling 54 weeks of service - including 4 weeks vacation. The service consists mainly of clinical work with continuous supervision and recurring structured competency assessments. Additionally, recurring training sessions aimed at achieving approved basic competency according to the National Board of Health and Welfare regulations and BT objectives. Qualifications Formal Competence: You must have Swedish medical license at the start of the base service Have not completed Swedish AT (introductory service). The positions require: Swedish personal number. Attached upper secondary school grades Good oral and written communication skills in Swedish, which will also be assessed in the selection process. Clinical experience from Swedish health and medical care with good references is a requirement.
