WORK DUTIES
As a fire safety inspector within the Fire Safety Control unit, you will primarily conduct fire safety inspections of fireplaces, flue pipes, and smoke channels in commercial kitchens with the aim of detecting faults and deficiencies in the installation to prevent damage resulting from fire.
Your work also includes communicating with the people you meet to increase awareness and understanding of fire safety, proper handling of fireplaces, correct ways to use fire, etc. Since the Fire Safety Control unit is new, you will also be an active part in building up and developing the unit and its operations together with the unit manager and other staff members.
Fire safety inspections are very important to us. Inspections must be conducted according to applicable schedules and our work must be of high quality. We must maintain good communication with those we meet during inspections and ensure that fire protection is at a reasonable level. If we discover deficiencies in an installation that we believe require remediation, we issue a notice to the facility owner regarding appropriate measures and then follow up to ensure the measures are taken.

Räddningstjänsten Skaraborg is part of Sweden's total defense and employment with us entails war placement with general conscription in case of heightened alert or war.
QUALIFICATIONS
Certificate as Chimney Sweep Technician
You must have a diploma as a chimney sweep technician according to Section 1 of the Regulation on Education in Protection Against Accidents, or according to older regulations, a technician diploma for chimney sweeps, have completed a course for chimney sweep master, or have obtained a master's diploma for chimney sweeps.
Driver's License
A requirement for this position is that you hold at least a category B driver's license.
