We manage a large geographical area, ranging from mines to mountains and vast mountain forests. Most of the municipality's residents live in Gällivare town center, where our full-time station is also centrally located. In our villages, we have five rescue brigades that help us by being first on scene and providing initial assistance. We handle approximately 300 emergency calls per year. We collaborate with neighboring municipalities and industrial fire brigades in the area. You will work with accident prevention such as inspections, information, and training, so we want you to be good at communicating with people and building trust. When the alarm sounds, you are one of us who must handle the incident as quickly as possible in a professional and efficient manner. To do this, we need to practice and maintain our vehicles and equipment. We work shifts with work every other weekend. We're looking for someone with an interest, willingness, and ability to help others. You need to be able to demonstrate good judgment and act calmly, steadily, and in a controlled manner in stressful situations. The profession requires practical, physical, and social skills. It is important that you have a positive attitude, are a good team player, and can also work independently. Before employment, interviews as well as work-related and physical tests will be conducted. Qualifications Protection Against Accidents (SMO) Driver's license at least category B Passed treadmill test according to AFS 2007:7 (not older than 3 months) attached to application. Good swimming skills at least Gold Badge certificate attached to application Ability to work at heights and no predisposition to claustrophobia. Good knowledge of Swedish language in both speech and writing. Meritorious Inspection A Professional experience as a firefighter Driver's license categories C, CE, BE Snowmobile license First aid training, chainsaw certificate, other relevant vocational training. Great weight is placed on personal suitability. Under the national minority language law, Gällivare municipality is an administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is meritorious when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality. Working Time / Duration Full-time, permanent position 6-month probation period applies Salary Monthly salary, we apply individual salary setting – please indicate salary expectations in your application.
