We need more firefighters for our four shift teams. At Gällivare Rescue Service, you work as one of 5 team members in a small organization. We manage a large geographical area, from mines to mountains and vast mountain forests. Most of the municipality's residents live in Gällivare town where our full-time station is also located, centrally positioned in the center. In our villages, we have five rescue stations that help us by being first on scene and providing initial assistance.
We handle approximately 300 alarms per year.
We collaborate with our neighboring municipalities and industrial fire brigades in the area.

Job Responsibilities
As a firefighter with us, we want you to engage within our various areas of activity based on your interest and suitability. You will work with accident prevention such as inspections, information, and training; therefore, we want you to be good at talking with people and building trust.
When the alarm sounds, you are one of us who must be able to handle the situation as quickly as possible in a professional and efficient manner. To do this, we need to exercise and maintain our vehicles and equipment. We work shifts with work every other weekend.
We are looking for someone with interest, willingness, and ability to help others. You need to be able to demonstrate judgment and act calmly, steadily, and in a controlled manner in pressured situations. The profession requires practical, physical, and social skills.
It is important that you have a positive attitude, are a good team member, and can also work independently.
Before employment, interviews and work-related and physical tests will be conducted.
Qualifications
Protection against Accidents (SMO)
Driver's license, minimum category B
Passed treadmill test according to AFS 2007:7 (not older than 3 months) attached to application.
Good swimming ability, minimum Gold Badge certificate attached to application
Ability to work at heights and no predisposition to claustrophobia.
Good knowledge of Swedish language in both speech and writing.
Meritorious
Inspection A
Professional experience as a firefighter
Driver's license authorization C, CE, BE
Snowmobile license
First aid training, chainsaw license, other relevant vocational training.
Great weight is placed on personal suitability.
Within the framework of the national minority language law, Gällivare municipality is an administrative municipality for Sámi, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is meritorious when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.

Full-time until further notice
Probationary employment of 6 months applies
