About Us Sala-Heby Rescue Service works to create safety and security for approximately 36,000 residents living in Sala and Heby municipalities. The organization consists of around 110 employees distributed across one full-time station in Sala and seven part-time stations (RIB). Our operational area encompasses everything from urban centers and culturally historic environments to forests, lakes, industries, national highways, railways, and correctional facilities. This creates a varied and developing work environment with a broad range of assignments in both rescue operations and prevention work. We are part of Rescue Central Mid and collaborate operationally within Rescue Region Eastern Svealand (RRÖS), where thirteen rescue services together develop operations, methods, and capabilities to meet future challenges. Job Responsibilities As an experienced firefighter, you will have an important role in your work team and in our operational activities. We are looking for someone with solid experience in operational rescue services. We expect you to contribute with composure, good judgment, and decisive action—both during operations and in daily work at the station. You take responsibility for the whole, share your experience, and help where needed. You will serve in our response organization and contribute to safe and efficient emergency operations. Work is conducted on a 42-hour shift schedule, with 24-hour shifts on weekends. Qualifications We are looking for someone who takes initiative and has both the will and ability to help others. You demonstrate good judgment and can act calmly and in control even under pressure. You work well in a team and collaborate professionally with colleagues, partner organizations, and the public. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. For this position, you must have: 2 years of experience as a full-time firefighter Diploma from training in Protection Against Disasters (SMO), or alternatively completed training in rescue operations or Grib with smoke diving competence Driver's license category C Approved results in the tests and assessments included in the recruitment process The recruitment process includes: Pyramid test and strength test Claustrophobia test and search technique test Height test Practical test Interview Documents to be attached with your application: Certificate from treadmill test conducted with 8 degrees inclination and speed of 5.6 km/h. The certificate must not be more than two months old at the time of application. Certificate for completed Guldbojen. The certificate must not be more than six months old at the time of application. Study certificate from SMO training, if applicable. Meritorious It is meritorious if you have: Completed LK1 or RLA Good local knowledge of our geographic area Experience in vehicle mechanics or electrical systems Practical experience in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of vehicles or technical equipment is particularly meritorious.
