Large industrial investments are underway in northern Sweden, including in Gällivare municipality, which means exciting challenges for the fire department in the dynamic risk landscape we find ourselves in. Gällivare Fire Department is part of the rescue management system Räddsam Nord with a total of 19 member municipalities stretching from Nordmaling in the south to Kiruna in the north where approximately 500,000 residents live. The workplace consists of approximately 30 employees. Additionally, there are five fire brigades and one contractually affiliated industrial fire brigade. We work for a safer and more secure Gällivare! Work Tasks Your work tasks include accident prevention, operational preparation, and damage mitigation activities. Examples of work tasks include complex supervision according to LSO, supervision and permit review according to LBE, handling of referrals under PBL or other legislation, accident investigation, and operational planning. You also work with our hazardous operations (Chapter 2, Section 4 LSO) within Gällivare municipality where you will have the opportunity to consider risks and operational preparations for oxidizing products, aircraft, mines with underground and surface operations, and hydroelectric dams. You are part of the rescue department's management group. If you are assessed to have appropriate competence and based on your personal qualities, staffing for an incident commander function may become relevant. You are responsible for one of the fire department's operational areas within our total operations where you drive development, follow up, and quality assure your area. Right now we are looking for an individual who develops our work with learning after incidents to share knowledge and experience locally and within Räddsam Nord. Accident investigations are also part of that operational area. At an interview, we would like to know which area within the fire service field particularly interests you. Collaboration within the municipal group and also in cooperation constellations within Räddsam Nord is an important part of moving operations forward together in the collaboration area where you may participate in project or other work groups that are established. Qualifications We are looking for you who are trained as a fire engineer; it is a merit if you have already completed – or have a clear plan to complete – RUB. We are also looking for you who have completed MCF training, primarily Supervision A, leadership course for unit commander, or higher leadership course according to MCF's training structure or other equivalent training that the employer deems corresponding. It is a merit if you have completed Supervision B, as this competence strengthens your ability to quickly take responsibility and contribute in the role. Experience from work within municipal fire services and experience with building fire safety issues or civil protection is meritorious. Great emphasis is placed on your personal suitability. We see that you are responsible, communicative, and have an eye for seeing development opportunities. We also see that you have the ability to work in a structured manner from start to goal, good cooperation skills, and a creative flair. You should be comfortable communicating well in both speech and writing in Swedish and English. Under the national minority language law, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is a merit when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality. The position requires that you have driving license category B. The position may involve security clearance.
