In addition to your work as a fire safety engineer/fire inspector within our prevention activities, you will also be in the center of action as approximately 50% of your working time is spent as an incident commander (IC) in our command center in Kristianstad. Together, we have the important mission to prevent accidents and create safety for residents in both Hässleholm and Perstorp municipalities. Your main responsibilities will be permit management and supervision according to the Act on Flammable and Explosive Goods (LBE). Perstorp municipality is also characterized by several unique and complex industrial operations, which gives you good opportunities to develop through qualified supervision and advisory work related to the industrial park. As an incident commander, you have overall operational responsibility within the emergency management system in Skåne northeast, with primary duties in the role of operations chief. You lead and coordinate operations around the clock, prioritize resources and make well-informed decisions based on the current situation. You work in various leadership roles according to the Unified Command System (ELS) and can, if needed, serve as rescue commander or participate in a staff function. Through your knowledge of applicable legislation, you contribute to effective and safe operations and provide support in risk assessments conducted during accidents and other incidents. The role also involves close collaboration with other authorities and societal stakeholders. Together, you work to create the best possible conditions for safety and security for those who live, stay and work in our municipalities. Before starting, you will receive an individually tailored introduction based on your experience, expertise and previous knowledge. The position is primarily based in Hässleholm, with some duties in Perstorp. Operational shift work is performed at Räddningstjänsten Kristianstad. Who are you? We are looking for someone who has: A fire safety engineer degree supplemented with advanced training in emergency services for fire safety engineers (RUB) or Management Course Incident Commander (LK 2), Rescue Management B (or equivalent older training system) and the training Supervision and Other Accident Prevention Work B (Supervision B). At least two years of experience with LBE permit matters as a case officer at a municipal rescue service, as a consultant or similar. An operational background within emergency services with experience of leading in various contexts. B-class driver's license As a fire safety engineer/fire inspector, you have strong analytical skills, work in a structured manner and can plan and prioritize your work efficiently. You have a service-oriented approach and understand the importance of professional and trustworthy conduct in contact with people who live, stay and work in our municipalities. As a person, you are engaged, responsible and actively contribute to the development of the activities. Together with your colleagues, you work to strengthen accident prevention work through collaboration, knowledge sharing and a constant focus on improvement. In the role of incident commander, you are a confident leader with the ability to make well-founded decisions in both everyday situations and complex incidents. You are aware that your actions affect both operational results and the work environment, and you contribute through your leadership to a professional and developing culture. Together with other incident commanders, you take responsibility for developing and driving the function forward. The role requires that you can communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing. Experience with risk assessments in industry and/or work as an incident commander is meritorious. The position is a permanent employment with start date by agreement. Depending on your education and experience, you will be employed as a fire inspector or fire safety engineer, with assignment as incident commander. Other Information The employment is classified as a security position, which requires you to have Swedish citizenship. Employment requires a satisfactory result in the security clearance including criminal record check. The position involves war placement in Hässleholm Rescue Service. About Us Räddningstjänsten Hässleholm is organized under the Management Administration and conducts operational emergency services, prevention activities, and the municipality's security department is also placed within the rescue service. Räddningstjänsten has over 50 full-time employees consisting of managers, office staff, fire safety engineers, fire inspectors, safety coordinators, firefighters and commanders. Operationally, the rescue service has one full-time station, six RIB units and four rescue corps and the municipality is part of the emergency management system in northeastern Skåne.
