The Social Services Department is responsible for child and family care, elderly care, and care for persons with disabilities. The Balder Support Home consists of a collective and individual support housing. The target group in the collective support home is men over 20 years old with substance use disorder—sometimes in combination with mental health issues and comorbidity. In our individual support homes, the target group includes both women and men with substance use disorder. The collective support home has capacity for 20 people; the individual support homes currently total 19 places. Balder is a sober and drug-free support home that provides good conditions for lasting change regarding substance use disorder. The Balder Support Home offers safe housing where our clients can work on their life situation and plan for the future. We have close cooperation with Huddinge Municipality's open care services and the Huddinge addiction treatment center. This is a temporary position lasting approximately 6 months. About the Work The work involves being a support for residents and motivating them toward continued sobriety and an independent life. In the role of residential support worker, you provide educational support regarding activities of daily living and prepare residents to manage independent housing in the future. The work includes motivating and supporting clients in maintaining routines, managing everyday administration, seeking employment and housing, and working toward continued sobriety. In collaboration with open care services, social workers, and other partners, you support residents in creating and maintaining structure in their daily lives. We work with contact person responsibility. An important task is documentation and record-keeping in the LifeCare management system. The work includes conducting regular and random alcohol and drug tests. The position involves scheduled working hours during both day and evening shifts, as well as every third weekend. We offer you a workplace with experienced and competent colleagues. The workplace is located in Trångsund in beautiful natural areas with a view over Drevviken. We apply individual salary setting and offer regular supervision. About You We are looking for someone who is trained as a social pedagogue/treatment pedagogue, social worker, or similar with further education in addiction studies. You should have very good theoretical knowledge and practical experience working with MI with the target group. You have good knowledge of evidence-based methods in the addiction field and are accustomed to documenting in journal systems. You are confident in yourself and have good self-insight. You listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts in a constructive manner. You find it easy to inspire others and are empathetic. You believe that all people have an inherent ability to develop. You need to be able to make quick and sometimes difficult decisions and stand firm by applicable rules. Being consistent in your actions is fundamental to the work.
