Lerum Municipality's residential support team consists of 14 residential support workers, coordinators, and 4 support pedagogues. As one of our employees has chosen to move on to new challenges, we are now seeking a new colleague. 1 position(s). JOB DUTIES Working as a residential support worker means supporting individuals with mental health issues, functional limitations, or other challenging factors to better manage their daily lives. The work can take place both in the person's home or outside the home depending on the individual's needs. Examples of assignments a residential support worker may receive include: • supporting the individual to break social isolation • supporting the individual to create structure in daily life • supporting the individual to develop routines for maintaining their home The residential support worker's most important task is to support and motivate the individual toward as much independence as possible. The goal is for the individual to achieve a functioning daily life and maintain their housing. The residential support worker strives to work with hands off and enable the individual to develop their ability to create a good life. Working hours are scheduled at 37 hours per week, Monday-Sunday. Currently, evening shifts occur 1-2 evenings per week and weekend shifts once per month. QUALIFICATIONS For the position of Residential Support Worker, a minimum of upper secondary education with a focus on psychiatry or behavioral science is required, but we would prefer if you have post-secondary education with an appropriate focus. It is advantageous if you have training in MI/Motivational Interviewing, ÅP/Relapse Prevention, LAB/Low Arousal Approach, Care and Support Coordination, ESL/An Independent Life, or similar. You are reliable and stable with personal maturity. You have the ability to work independently and feel confident making decisions on your own when the situation requires it. We see that you have an interest and personal suitability for meeting different types of people in their homes. You therefore need to feel comfortable and be good at quickly building relationships. You need to be able to drive conversations forward, be a good listener, and have an inquisitive and exploratory approach. You must also be able to handle difficult conversations as this involves people in very vulnerable life situations. You have good knowledge of the Swedish language both spoken and written. A certificate from the criminal record register will be requested. B-level driver's license is required. Employment type: Permanent employment. Duration: Permanent, start date: 2026-12-01.
