Laboratory Medicine is a regional organization with operations in Lycksele, Skellefteå, and Umeå. Laboratory Medicine Västerbotten comprises approximately 520 employees working in clinical genetics, clinical immunology and transfusion medicine, clinical chemistry, clinical microbiology, and clinical pathology. Biobank, healthcare hygiene, and tissue facility are also part of Laboratory Medicine. The operations are accredited. Clinical Chemistry is located at Norrlands University Hospital in Umeå and at regional hospitals in Lycksele and Skellefteå. Clinical Chemistry has approximately 140 staff members, of which 110 are based in Umeå. Clinical Chemistry in the region delivers approximately 7 million analysis results per year. At Clinical Chemistry in Umeå there are two sections: one that provides 24-hour sample analysis, and a chromatography/mass spectrometry section that operates during business hours on weekdays. You will work in the chromatography/mass spectrometry section in a small team consisting of biomedical analysts and chemists. We operate based on core values with the laboratory as an integrated part of the hospital's operations. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a biomedical analyst/medical biologist with us, you contribute with knowledge and commitment that makes people feel secure. You will work with sample sorting, sample preparation, analysis, validation of patient samples, and maintenance of analysis instruments. Analysis is performed using gas chromatography (GC) or liquid chromatography (HPLC) coupled to mass spectrometry (LCMS/MS). QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who are a licensed biomedical analyst, biomedical scientist, or have other three-year natural science education that the employer considers equivalent. Experience in clinical laboratory work and LC-MS/MS is meritorious. We are looking for you who are service-oriented and can work with a professional approach in various situations with the ability to collaborate with multiple professional categories.
