This time with a new and exciting focus! Through our initiative we are forming the next generation of signal technicians and you can be one of them. During the introductory period via Satellite Group you will develop the skills required to quickly become confident and self-assured in the role of signal technician. The initiative is a close collaboration between Professionals Nord and BDX Rail. After completing the program you will be employed by us at Professionals Nord and during the first 18 months you will work as a consultant for our client BDX. Provided the collaboration has worked well, the goal and intention is continued employment at BDX. We know from experience that it is your personal qualities that determine your success. Introductory Period Information The introductory period is based on the Accelerated Learning method, where shorter theoretical sections are combined with practical elements to give you all the tools you need to succeed in the role. You will be introduced to a range of technical and safety-related areas for working with railway signal systems. During the period you will develop within areas such as: Basic electrical Safety, standards and regulations for work on the railway Signal technology Switches and derails Cable laying Basic terms and symbols We offer the opportunity for student loans throughout the entire introductory period. You will work with BDX maintenance contracts for the southern and northern Malmberget Railway. The work includes both preventive and corrective maintenance on platforms and track areas. The position involves outdoor work and you work primarily daytime on weekdays, but there is also the possibility of working shifts 7/7. Work at nights and weekends occurs, and you have on-call duty according to a rotating schedule. Because the work is carried out over a larger geographical area, you need to be comfortable driving a car for work as some days can involve many miles behind the wheel. As a signal technician you are responsible for installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of the railway's signal systems. You ensure that signals, switches and other safety systems function correctly to guarantee safe and efficient train movements. The role also includes working with system integration, following safety regulations and documenting completed work. You will work both independently and in pairs, with a focus on maintaining the highest standards in a critical part of the railway infrastructure. Your work tasks will include, among other things: Troubleshooting and fault detection for railway problems Repair of faulty or worn components Perform preventive maintenance in a proactive manner Documentation and reporting of the work you have completed We are Looking for You as Someone Who Is 18 years or older Has a high school diploma Holds a Class B driver's license Speaks and writes Swedish fluently Is technically inclined and enjoys working both outdoors and with your hands!
